Smiles & Rooftops
This week has proved that sometimes it's best to put on a smile and roll with whatever life throws at you, and it helps to have a whole bunch of happy faces on your shirt too.
A few of my closest friends wanted to meet up for a few drinks, and the trendster of our group suggested we head to Peckham, much to my confusion. Following the ideology of smiling and saying yes, I went along and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my time there :).
We headed to Frank's, a rooftop bar on the tenth storey of a car-park opposite Peckham Rye station (which was recently featured on Buzzfeed's list of why London needs to 'stop').
As we walked up the car-park ramps (the lifts weren't working -_-) there were a ton of posters for club nights and performances, including the incredible New York rapper Cakes Da Killa, which you'd expect to find in East London, which signalled straight away that this wasn't the same Peckham where people would ask "what ends are you from" before deciding whether to mug you or not.
It proves to show that London is so diverse and full of lots of surprises.
The T-shirt I'm wearing is from the T-Shirt Store in Covent Garden; I purchased it between shows at LC: M as I originally decided to wear a jumper and a jacket during the middle of summer and needed to change into something cooler. It also ended up being two for one so one of my best friends ended up having a shirt to wear for the night out after.
The pin was actually a promotional item by Anya Hindmarch on Valentines day. I always think that pins and badges can add great details to quite plain outfits and are especially great as they can be paired with several items.
I matched this with a pair of Topman jeans and an all black Topman baseball jacket, and finished off the look with my yellow, rubber Converses.
As for Frank's, it was a cool mix between the slightly older 'after work' crowd and the younger, creative types. The food and drink were reasonably priced, with a massive jug of Pimms (that served five people two glasses each) was only twenty pounds.
The atmosphere was very chilled and the view of the City was fantastic.
Peace and Blessings,
Andre
