GREY DAY

It's been a while since I've posted an Outfit of the Day; partly because of my university timetable, but mostly because I haven't really been wearing OOTD-post worthy clothes. Recently, I've been wanting to switch up my style a bit and be more out there (most-likely due to the colourful fur and platform shoe heavy world of LFW), but on a recent trip to Topman Oxford Street's Vintage section, I found this corduroy Levi's shearling jacket and thought there's nothing wrong with playing it safe.

I meet up with a friend straight after class to snap a few photos.

I matched my Levi's jacket with one of my prized Kenzo sweatshirts, and in keeping with the theme of 'eyes', paired it with my dark grey Lazy Oaf beanie. With this, I wore another pair of Topman Jeans (all of my denim seems to be from Topman haha) and my new snake-effect Dr Marten's, that I absolutely love.

The next few weeks are going to be focused on SORTING MY LIFE OUT! I'm going to try and update my blog more regularly and keep on top of my university work, whilst also having a social life (I just booked my Disclosure and Grimes tickets wooo), going to the gym, and somehow managing to leave London numerous times to go to my friends' 21st birthdays.

LC:M - Joseph Turvey SS16

British designer Joseph Turvey held his LC:M SS16 Presentation at the Century Club rooftop garden against a paint sprayed backdrop. The pieces were heavily military inspired, mixing strong colour blocking (inspired by Sonia Delaunay) and intricate illustrations. Featuring playful, sportswear vibes, the textures in this collection create a vivid and unique feel.

LC:M - William Stone

Designer William Stone presented his LC:M SS16 collection at the Century Club in London, showcasing his technical and creative versatility. With a combination of sharp tailoring and more vibrant, casual patterned looks, the collection was incredibly contemporary.

LC:M - Casely-Hayford SS16

Today I had the amazing opportunity of attending the Casely-Hayford SS16 show at London Collections: Men at the Old Sorting Office on New Oxford Street. The father and son team put on an amazing collection with a mix of tailoring, craftsmanship and sportier pieces that had the same luxurious feel.

With a playlist of heavy UK Grime, the show was definitely one of the most attention grabbing shows of the season.

Below are some of my favourite looks/what I could get a picture of (models move really fast!).

DON'T TRY... too hard

F*ck playing it safe, wear white clubbing! (Just watch out for the Jägermeister) I choose to mix things up a bit with a bit of Lazy Oaf and Topman.

I decided to experiment a bit with some jewellery wearing a Gold Kenzo ring, white Kenzo watch and a silver pinky ring from Topman.

Lazy Oaf is by far my favourite brand at the moment. Its fun, fresh and is great for all those who like their fashion a little less serious.

I wore my Raf Simons x Adidas trainers to add a bit of colour to the monochrome look; the reflective material of the trainers make them a nice addition (although I decided to rock a pair of old Vans to the club).

BRAND WATCH: LAZY OAF

Fun characters, bold colours and graphic prints, Lazy Oaf is one of the most exciting London fashion brands out there. Featuring tongue-in-cheek text and eye-catching patterns, many of the designs are sure to appeal to the young and the fearless.

The clothes are versatile enough to be worn pretty much everywhere, being perfect for standing out in a club and then looking good when getting home the next morning.

VERSACE SS15

I could come up with an excuse such as "Versace was my favourite collection so I left it until last", but really I forgot to post this...

Once again incorporating feminine traits into menswear Versace served another killer show.

Personal Highlight: the white lace tops, could never wear them but they look great on the models.

KENZO SS15

Kenzo goes for a geometry inspired collection with symmetrical stripes, dots and other interesting shapes. The coats in this collection are a huge strong point, with the shape and fit being just right. The choices of colours also make for interesting additions to ones wardrobe, featuring mint, copper-brownish colours and a lot of soft pinks.

Personal Highlight: the above racer inspired jumpsuits and jacket & trouser pairing. The logo inspired patches add a sporty element to the outfits. Also, symmetry in the outfits makes for a way to mix and match.

FENDI SS15

Fendi SS15 is one of my favourite collections of the season. With blocks of primary colour matched against neutral tones and paired with loud, bright bags and casual sandals, the collection gives off an effortlessly luxurious feel. The denim in the collection is another strong point, as are the bags (which is expected of Fendi).

The jackets in this collection are to die for. The above few are actually beautiful; they scream "you're a student, you can't even imagine owning this", which makes me need it more.

DIOR HOMME SS15

Heavy in primary colours and sharp suits Dior Homme SS15 draws inspiration from many different artistic sources, putting an interesting spin on the print trend. Featuring stripes and a wonderfully bright yellow overcoat this years show kept things relatively simple.

Personal Highlight: The blue bomber jacket with the white writing, it stood out as being the item I would wear the most, as it can be worn as the main focus of an outfit which is important of a jacket.

THOM BROWNE SS15

I really want to know what goes on in Thom Browne's mind. He's managed to create a collection that is part Gundam, part butterfly/moth and part art instillation. Its a spectacular show even if you can't wear the clothes in public.

I don't know what else to say other than the collection is interesting to look at and the designs on a lot of the pieces are so intricate and beautiful. The collection as a whole is very pretty and detailed, it's more art than fashion to me (although you could argue fashion is art haha).
